Looking for new challenges where my skills as a programmer would contribute to the teams success!
I am seeking a position as a programmer / game programmer. Ready to join and contribute to the success of the team and the company. Over the past 1.5 years, I have been a part of the Nibiru team, and worked with many exciting projects and people at Nibiru Software. However, I now find myself looking for a fresh environment and a new set of challenges. I am a proud alumnus of Futuregames, where I specialised in game programming. Prior to that, I attended Nacka Mediagymnasium, where I studied Game Design. With a good mix of hands-on experience and formal education, I am excited to bring skills to the team.
Programming, Games and game development have been and are a big part of my life. I am well aware that there are many who wants to work in the IT- and game industry. And that only the best, most ambitious and competent will be able to be a part of it. However, I think I already have good base knowledge in programming, game design, and computers and also the game industry as a whole. In recent years, I have focused on developing myself into a programmer with an educational background in game design. But of course, I am not perfect and have much more to learn.
BRIEFLY ABOUT ME
My interest in technology and programming started at an early age. When I was 5 years old, I received my first game console. Since then, games and game development have been my absolute biggest interest and passion. Over the years, I have played on countless consoles, bought and sold lots of games and built many computers from scratch. I have also played many of the most popular games on the market, but I have also played several bad games with unclear stories, unfun “gameplay" and weak navigation pedagogy. These experiences have contributed to my knowledge and understanding of good and less good games.
I have been part of both large and small teams at school and at Nibiru, but I have also developed some games all by myself. In my portfolio you will find some of my self-developed game projects. "Gravity", which is made in the unity game engine, and an Asteroid inspired game which is built with C ++. I’am always increasing my knowledge in gameplay programming, as I think this is the foundation for game development.
As a person, I am always energetic and positive, and easy to deal with. I am driven by working in groups, where you complement each other's skills and develop each other. I am loyal and ambitious and place great value on always delivering according to plan. Key words for me are honesty, ambition and development.
TRAINING ACTIVITIES MAKE ME A BETTER PROGRAMMER
Due to my great interest in games, I spend many hours in front of the computer. I always make sure to take breaks for training. Among other things, I have practised Taekwondo for 7 years and have a red belt with a black stripe. I also love to go out into the woods for a run or train at the gym. In addition to that, I also practice swimming and skiing, among other things. I can also just simply go for a walk, preferably with good music in my headphones.
There will be at least 4-5 training sessions per week, and it is during these moments that I get time for reflection and can come up with game ideas, "game balancing", problem solving and more. I like challenges and that I need to fight to reach my goals (ask me about my Sekiro no consumables, no ability playthrough). It does not matter if it is tough, it stimulates me and gives me energy. It always feels better to take on challenges than to take the easy way out. Looking forward to meeting you and telling you more about myself.
